SolarBridge Technologies, Inc. is developing an innovative photovoltaic microinverter and monitoring solution that dramatically improves reliability, increases energy production, and simplifies installation for solar systems.  We are seeking a candidate for the position of Applications Engineering Manager.   This position will have extensive and constant engagement with customers and other channel partners and will be responsible for providing the technical support necessary to install, configure, and operate SolarBridge’s products.  This support will encompass SolarBridge’s activities across the full product lifecycle, from requirements discovery and pre-sales through post-sales implementation and technical support.

 

Key duties include:

 

  • Work closely with SolarBridge’s Sales and Product teams to support key accounts and generate design wins

  • Provide technical support for all of SolarBridge’s products.  Address technical questions and resolve testing or field issues in a timely manner

  • By understanding customer problems and issues, help define future microinverter and management products

  • Assist Sales and Product teams with customer/government RFQs

  • Interact with SolarBridge’s R&D team to stay abreast of the company’s technology/direction and leverage them as an escalation path

  • Gather and report intelligence from the field concerning industry, customer, and competitive developments

  • Develop Application Notes, White Papers, and other sales and implementation tools (e.g. detailed schematics and line diagrams) that position SolarBridge products in a compelling fashion

  • Perform channel training, create tradeshow demos, attend conferences, and develop/deliver presentations as needed

  • Build and manage a team of Application Engineers over time

A successful candidate will have an Engineering degree, a minimum of 5 years of applications experience and 2 years of implementation experience with solar installations, and a strong understanding of the codes and standards governing PV installations.   Essential to the position are effective communication skills, strong analytical problem solving skills, good planning and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and within a team environment.  The candidate must have a proven track record of successfully interacting with customers.  Approximately 30% to 50% travel is required.  The position will be based in Austin, TX.
